Join Our Wednesday Touch Rugby Session
Our Wednesday Touch Rugby training combines skills, fitness, tactical development and plenty of game time.
Sessions are designed to accommodate different experience and fitness levels. New players can learn the basics at their own pace, while experienced players can work on more advanced skills, movement and decision-making.
A typical session may include:

You do not need previous rugby experience. Our coaches and established players will explain the rules and help you get involved.

Your First Touch Rugby Session
Attending your first session is simple.

Complete our new-player form or send us a message before attending. We will confirm that the Wednesday session is running and answer any questions.
Arrive early
Please aim to arrive approximately 10–15 minutes before the 7:00pm start. This gives you time to find the pitch, meet the coaches and get ready.
Introduce yourself
Let one of the coaches know that it is your first session. We will explain how the training works and introduce you to other players.
Join at your own pace
You will not be expected to know all the rules immediately. We will help you learn through simple drills and games.
Stay for the full session
Training finishes at approximately 8:00pm. Players may occasionally stay afterwards to socialise at the clubhouse.
H2: What Should I Bring?
For your first Touch Rugby session, please bring:
Comfortable sports clothing
Moulded stud rugby or football boots
A water bottle
Warm layers during colder weather
A waterproof top when rain is forecast
Any personal medication you may require
Our Wednesday sessions normally take place on a grass pitch.
Moulded studs are recommended, particularly when the ground is wet. Trainers may be suitable during dry conditions, but please contact us before attending if you are unsure.
For player safety, metal studs and removable studs are not permitted.
You do not need to buy specialist Touch Rugby clothing before attending your first session.

The nearest London Underground station is Oakwood on the Piccadilly line.
Bramley Sports Ground is approximately a ten-minute walk from Oakwood station.
From the station, walk towards Bramley Sports Ground and Green Road. We recommend checking your route before travelling, particularly when attending for the first time.
Visitors travelling from central London can reach Oakwood directly on the Piccadilly line.

Drivers arriving from outside London can approach the venue from the M25.
Leave the M25 at Junction 24 for Potters Bar and follow Cockfosters Road, the A111, towards Cockfosters and Southgate. Continue past Cockfosters Underground station towards the roundabout at the top of Cat Hill. Take the exit towards Southgate and then turn onto Green Road.

New players are not required to enter competitions. You can begin with regular training and decide later whether you would like to play in organised matches or tournaments.
